Kate loved being a mom to Lucien and Doug. She would lie and stare at them sleeping when they were babies, overfill Christmas stockings with funny animals, fruit, cooking utensils, and toys from childhood through adulthood, and stay up late discussing friendship, love politics, life-decisions, and the world with them through the years. Kate taught the boys about cooking, poetry, and art, to love travel, adventure and nature, to enjoy and value good meals and great conversation, and to be kind and curious people.
