The following was originally sent to Beth Learson Daniels on 1 September 2010 "Beth… My sincere condolences…Kate’s death is a great loss to all. Over the past several years, it has been a uniquely rewarding and ennobling experience to have spent time with her. Notwithstanding the adversity she faced, she embraced her life fully and found invigorating joy in her family, particularly her grandson. As you may know, your generous support and contribution on her behalf was deeply satisfying to her. At present, it is not possible to mitigate one’s sense of loss but, for me, the memory of her undaunted courage, willingness to persist and unfailing grace will inform my expectation of a life well lived.
